Following my PSIII practicum, I participated in the Professional Inquiry Project Symposium at the University of Lethbridge. This was taking my PIP and presenting to an audience of future education students, colleagues, and professors on the importance of my project and what it brought to the community. My presentation was based on collaborative creation with students in the drama classroom. The students in Raymond created a haunted house project that performed for their community audience. This had a great impact on the community and brought a new love of theatre to the town. I found many students were much more engaged in school after this project and were looking to get more involved in extra curricular drama activities.

A Reflection From Practicum
I had some interesting things happen over the course of my practicum, however this Tuesday really stood out to me as a day that taught me a lot. In the reflection (Left) I discuss having a student who is defiant to me in class, cutting a student from a major production with 1-2 weeks until show day, and the importance of drama to me as a teacher. I believe this reflection shows a lot of growth from me as a student to me as a professional. I have began thinking through deeper concepts relating to my classroom, how to handle management situations, and how to keep myself as sane as possible through the crazy school days of 2014. |
