On this page I have included a year plan based on performances to be done for the community with a matching unit plan. These are components of teaching that I believe to be extremely important. According to the KSA's, a good teacher will (Be prepared, organized). The following year plan is prepared for my PSIII (if possible) with an adapted unit plan for Theatre for Young Audiences for a slightly younger class.
Theatre Planning
The document below shows a drama unit plan broken down to a much more basic level. This document includes the activities and learning outcomes for each day during the Haunted House unit that I underwent in PSIII. My teaching experience has taught me to keep a lesson plan or unit plan in front of me during every class. What I have found with planning like this is that it prepares me for the unexpected. If I know where I am going, I know the steps I need to get there. If a step is missed due to a PD day, emergency, or substitute teacher, I will know exactly where that is and how to combine lessons to continue the lessons in a coherent way the following day.
