About Me
Hello and welcome!
My name is Bret Jesse, a teacher from the University of Lethbridge and now working in Lethbridge School District 51. I am a Drama Education major. I have spent my university career exploring Theatre for Young Audiences and I have found my specialization in that field. I spent the summers of 2013 & 2014 in Fort Macleod, Alberta teaching dramatic arts at the Empress Theatre. I was very excited to join the staff at Mike Mountain Horse Elementary School for the 2015-2016 school year as a grade 3 teacher. It was a fantastic experience, and I look forward to continuing my career within Lethbridge. My practicum experience has come to a close with the completion of my Professional Semester III at Raymond Junior High. During my time in the education faculty I also did work at Vauxhall Elementary as well as St. Mary's Junior High in Medicine Hat. In the coming years I look to begin my teaching career in Alberta or the United Kingdom. |
What is Bret Jesse?
From the home of Orange and Blue
The hardwood courts
And black box theatres.
From the classrooms
The open fields
And my own imagination.
I hail from the great prairies of Alberta
and the open fields of New Zealand.
I am from Alegasia, Hogwarts, and Middle Earth
from the 90’s to the 2010’s,
from coaches and teams
and from rock, pop, country, and everything in between.
I am from the hardwood courts
My field of battle
No blood, no sweat, no tears.
This is where I became who I am
and learned that giving up, is never an option.
I was raised by a caring family
the strongest unit I know.
No one will ever know you better
No one will ever push you harder
And no one will want you to succeed
as badly as they do.
I was brought up by
laughter making
prank pulling
Hug giving
kind of friends.
I believe mistakes are a learning opportunity
And life is a land to be explored and conquered.
I believe life is not about finding yourself,
life is about creating yourself.
I am Bret Jesse.
